Health CS Mutahi Kagwe. Kenya's Covid-19 cases have risen to 1,109 with 80 cases being announced today which is the highest number so far. This is from a sample size of 3,102 tested individuals by the Ministry of Health This is the highest number the country has encountered since the emergence of coronavirus in Kenya on 13th March this year. Kenya has increased its testing capacity by 40 per cent in the last two weeks in an effort of curbing the spread of the virus. Murkomen Accuses Uhuru of Political Conmanship

Ousted Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of political conmanship moments after the Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka approved the leadership changes. Lusaka said the changes followed the Senate's standing orders 19 (1) (2) (3), 40 (5) and (7) and met the threshold under standing order 19 (5) there having been a majority of the votes. Making the announcement on its Twitter handle,  the powerful power distributor listed a number of regions especially in Mombasa, Kilifi, Uasin Gishu, and Kisumu whose power will be interrupted from 9am to 5pm. In Kisumu area, residents of the following areas should be prepared to spend the whole day without power; area around Pabari, Kenya Pipeline, United Millers, Kenya Breweries, Sea Food Industries, Kisumu Airport & adjacent customers. Here, power will be off from 9am to 3PM. Kenyan Government considers ordering a 3pm curfew in NAIROBI CBD

 Coronavirus global pandemic that has upended the world looks like it is here to stay for a while and the government of Kenya is looking for all possible ways of protecting its citizens from the deadly novel virus. NAIROBI, Kenya, today May,  8, 2020– Fourteen people including an 11-month-old baby have tested positive for COVID-19 out of the 922 samples tested in the last 24 hours raising the the total tally of confirmed cases in the country to 621. “The spread of the cases by estates is spread out as follows; four (4) are from Kasarani, two (2) from Makadara, and one from each of the following estates; 5 Umoja 1, South C, Irigu in Dagoretti South, Machakos and mandatory quarantine. Kenyan Airplane crash in somalia, 6 confirmed dead

A Kenyan aircraft with six crew members, four passengers and 2 pilots has been blown up in Somalia. The airplane was hit by a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) in Somalia while almost on the run-way and ready to land. The crash left all the six people in the plane dead. The incident of the attack has not yet been revealed but sources indicate the grenade was fired by Somalia forces by mistake. The incidence was first confirmed by Somalia media houses. The aircraft which was registered under African Express, registration number 5Y AXO was preparing for landing at Bardale town when it was hit with the Propelled grenade allegedly fired by the Ethiopian forces . COVID-19 Updates;Kenya records the highest number of recoveries

Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rashid Aman announced on Thursday that the total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Kenya had risen to 396. Giving the ministry's daily update on new infections following the testing of 777 new samples, Dr Aman said 12 more people had tested positive for the coronavirus. He said seven were in Mombasa, three in Nairobi, one in Kitui and one in Wajir. The case in Wajir was its first since Kenya confirmed its first case of Covid-19 on March 13. The ministry further announced that two more patients had died, raising Kenya's death toll to 17. Since the first case was reported in Wuhan, China, on December 31, 2019, at least 3,234,915 people worldwide had been infected by April 30. The total number of deaths worldwide was 228,598 and that of recoveries at 1,009,290.
