The United States Embassy has warned American citizens in Tanzania on the high risk of Corona virus in the country. In an advisory shared via email, the Embassy warns that the risk of contracting the virus is very high in Daresalaam. It also notes that the Tanzanian government is not forthcoming with information on the true extent of the virus in the country. The embassy also claims that the hospitals in the country are overwhelmed and seeking medical care could be very difficult. It has advised its staff and citizens to stay at home unless going out to buy food. The revelation comes days after the Australian High Commission in Kenya advised its citizens in East Africa to leave as soon as flights are available or risk being stuck for a long period of time.
