Garsen MP Ali Wario Guyo and his Galole MP Hiribae Said Buya have been reported missing after their motorboat failed to return from a food distribution exercise in Tana Delta Sub-County on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
The two legislators, along with their team, departed from Garsen Town to distribute food aid to flood victims in remote areas of the sub-county.
Despite expectations of their boat returning by evening, it has not been seen since.
Rescue teams are actively searching for the missing boat and its occupants, but the operation is facing challenges due to adverse weather conditions.
As this situation continues to unfold, a video has emerged of Ali Wario Guyo in a boat in the dark, pleading for help.
The video shows Guyo visibly shaken and disoriented, saying that he does not know where they are and asking for help to be found.

Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has been criticized for his handling of the flood situation in North Eastern Kenya.
Some critics have accused him of ignoring the plight of the region’s residents, and the disappearance of the Garsen and Galole MPs has only served to intensify the criticism of Murkomen.
This incident highlights the urgent need for Murkomen to heed the calls from North Eastern leaders to visit the region and see firsthand the havoc being caused by floods.
In a recent tweet, Murkomen was quoted as having been told by a North Eastern leader “awache PR na aende ground ajionee how floods are causing havoc.”
It now appears that Murkomen did not heeded to the advice and his inaction has now put the lives of these two MPs and their team at risk.
We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as they become available.
Stay tuned for the latest developments.
